H2 in May
on May 14 in Working Life by seanharkness
Last year we recorded Flights: Volume 1 and had an extremely good response from the small distribution we were able to do ourselves. Now we are thrilled to be part of the Opening Day family along with Canadian Brass, David Braid, and many other great artists. ODEG will be releasing Flights on their label this June 14.
There will be an event here in New York sometime in early September that will be coordinated with Jazz Times Magazine, J&R Music World, Walden Guitars [guitar giveaway!], and other sponsors. I’ll keep you in the loop as that develops.
In meeting with the folks at ODEG it was suggested that we create a Holiday CD. Mike came down from Toronto in April to get started…

We worked a couple sessions in with fab engineer Ron Allaire at his Midtown studio.
Some minor vandalism for a photo op… The big ‘H’ was irresistible.
Mark Miller lined up a gig for Mike with Coco Mama. They are on the MUST SEE list, by the way.
On the Monday night we visited Jim Caruso’s Cast Party at Birdland Jazz Club:
Our lovely photographer – or rather our personal paparazzi…
She gets good shots of us just being there…
Thanks for reading along. As always, comments, questions, suggestions, dissertations, and random speculations are totally encouraged. Cheers,

[This last one was taken late at night way back during Mike's first visit, but I just had to post it here]
